How to set up an email application

This page contains information on how to access your ioMail account using a desktop email application such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Entourage, Thunderbird etc.

Server Configuration Settings
These are the server names and ports for your ioMail account. To use a secure connection, use the settings marked with SSL.

Server TypeServer NamePort
POP3pop.emailsrvr.com110
IMAPimap.emailsrvr.com143
SMTPsmtp.emailsrvr.com25 or 587
POP3 with SSLsecure.emailsrvr.com995
IMAP with SSLsecure.emailsrvr.com993
SMTP with SSLsecure.emailsrvr.com465 or 587

* Outgoing servers require authentication. Outlook users will need to manually enable this feature. Follow the Setup Guides, below, to configure your account.

* When entering your User Name, please enter your entire email address (e.g., myname@mydomain.com). Also, please use all lower-case letters.

Note: Some Interent Service Providers (ISPs) have restrictions on SMTP port 25. That is, they restrict the sending of mail via SMTP port 25 to any servers other than their own. This may be an anti-spam measure or for other reasons. If you find that you can receive mail but cannot send mail be sure to try the alternate port numbers listed above. This is usually set up in the advanced options in your email application.
